Progress runs at a snail's pace. But it runs...

One of those progress things is - comparing to the 70s - the pedestrian underpass construction. Was is at the 70s a dark hole to walk through, so it's today a a bright way under wide streets.

Comming from Schottweg walked under Nordstrasse torwards Engelsby.

Dying buildings

As yesterday written nature returns if buildings aren't used any longer. The building with 12 floors between Nordstrasse, Schottweg and Wasserlooser Weg won`t be used more.

But what to do? Demolition is quite clear, but not who will pay for it and how to care in future of a area with a high load of street noise.

In fact it`s politics to to decide it. At the moment ist seems to a decision between buildung there a supermarket or green space. By the reason of noise pullution building up new accommodation options doesn't make much sense.

Return of nature

No longer used garages in Engelsby.
It seems like nature comes back. It 's interesting what will happen when spring starts...

German playground

A lot of people are saying that Germans aren`t child-friendly.
But see this this lovely children`s playgrund in a tremendous green environment at Wasserlooser Weg! Creativ playing is forced by rich variety. And see the great infrastructure to leave the playground by car!
What else do children need?

Total lack of green

Noise reduction is quite important in urban areas.

The point is how to get this aim. It might be simple and clean to build a wall. But even wooden compartments wouldn`t get it beautifull. This example seen in Engelsbyer Str. is anything else than a gem. Living opposite of it it daily remindes of loosing the structure of a nice village.

By the reason for ill health today once again a picture of the small houses at Kuesterluecke.

Looking up for some prices I found that they will cost about 175.000,00 € (excl. kitchen, interior work, etc.).

Just a short time before it was a nice place only a few minutes from the city. An extensive used place of farmland. On the northern part are build small houses ('Kleinsthaeuser') for urban people.

An interesting project of urban devellopment. In time I will write something more about it.

..those constructions were used for advertisements and specially for job offers.
Today (industrial) undertakings are moved towards the suburbs. Structure is changing but causes a problem of traffic.

Seen at the beginning at Gluecksburger Strasse, a formely prosperous street.

Ancient Flensburg

Even in the central area of Flensburg one will find a lot of old buildings. Today a backyard view from the second floor in Grosse Strasse.

Half-timbered frame house contructions a not typical but on the other hand not absolutely unusual. To find them you have leave the main walking ways.

Poor Flensburg

It's a pitty! A few years ago it was a small but nice looking hous in Gluecksburger Str.
I don't know who it owns know, but leaving buildings in such a bad condition isn't ok. For this case germans have in their constitution te article concerning social due refering propperty (Eigentum verpflichtet).

- When i passed the house a second time today i heard some craft noises... I can only hope that some takes care before it becomes a case of law and order.
